To enjoy juices of different types of fresh fruits and vegetables you need the right equipment……which in this case is a juicer.Juicers can be classified into two main types based on their mode of operation….
This is the most common type which is readily available in most departmental stores worldwide. It grinds the fruits and vegetables being fed into it ; spinning at a very high rpm (revolutions per minute) and separates the juice and pulp through different exits. These juicers are affordable and readily available……the can process whole veggies and fruits very fast thereby reducing preparation time.
The speed with which the juicer works introduces a lot of oxygen into the juice making it to oxidize thereby loosing a portion of the phyto nutrients and enzymes contained in it.
It also does not process leafy greens well….
These juicers run at a lower rpm ( average of 80 rpm) and are more efficient and effective in juicing fresh fruits, vegetables and even wheatgrass. As a result of the lower rpm, the resultant juice is nutritionally dense with most of the enzymes and phyto nutrients intact…….They extract more juice and can even juice leafy greens …….whatever produce you put in…….. You will get juice from it…….
Although they are kind of expensive but worth it in the long run as most brands double as raw food processor and even oil mills in some cases.
You also have to chop the fruits and vegetables into smaller pieces as the chute is narrow.
Imagine being able to do your own almond butter or sesame oil # wink#
SINGLE AUGER MASTICATING JUICER.
These juicers have a single gear that crushes and kind of grinds the fruits ,vegetables or grass then separates the juice from the pulp through different exits.
TWIN GEAR MASTICATING JUICER.
These juicers process the produce through two interlocking gears resulting in a slower rpm; more juice being produced with the maximum health benefits.
The one we will enjoy in Naija # wink#
