Garden Eggs ( Solanum melongena) is a very good ally on the challenging weight loss ‘ journey’. This plant is a member of the aubergine family and you can find many varieties- white, yellow, purple, green and white with green stripes. The edible fruit which classified as a berry is low in fat, protein and carbohydrates; it is loaded with fibre which promotes a feeling of satiety thereby helping you eat less.
A 1998 study found that egg plant juice significantly reduced weight and cholesterol levels in rabbits. It has also been researched in clinical trials on humans with the result stated as modest and a transitory effect on cholesterol levels and weight loss.

It can also be made into a stew like sauce that is an excellent accompaniment to west african yams or any other starchy root vegetable
